Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana - Lucky Draw for Shopkeepers, Merchants

India is still seeing a lot of problems in day to day cash transactions due to limited availability of cash. Government is now looking aggressively towards digital or cashless payments to alleviate this problem. To promote digital payments, Indian Government has launched multiple schemes and rewards on Dec 15th.

Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana is to promote digital payments among shopkeepers, merchants, retailers, and businesses. As per this scheme, there will be lucky draws for people who have received money using digital transactions at their shops and those winning lucky draw will be provided cash rewards. Lucky draws will be conducted every week (with first lucky draw on Dec 25th 2016 as a Christmas gift). Plus there will be a mega prize draw at the end of scheme on April 14, 2017.

The scheme specially focuses on bringing the poor, lower middle class and small businesses into the digital payment fold.

Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana - Rewards for Shopkeepers and Merchants

Any shopkeeper, retailer or merchant (i.e, any business) using approved digital transaction to receive money at their shop will be automatically added to the lucky draw. There will be lucky draws every week, followed by a mega prize at the end of the scheme.

Scheme is valid for any digital transaction done between Nov 8, 2016 to April 14, 2017. To be eligible the transaction amount need to be between Rs 50 and Rs 3000

Digi Dhan Vyapar Yojana - Qualified Payment systems

All digital transactions done through UPI, USSD, Aadhar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) and RuPay cards will be allowed for lucky draws.

Please note that private e-wallet like paytm and mobikwik and credit card and non-RuPay debit cards are not part of this scheme.

How to participate in lucky draw?

Having Smartphone and Internet - Use UPI

The easiest option to participate is through UPI (Unified payment interface). Different banks have come up with their UPI mobile app to make digital transactions easy. Using a UPI mobile app, customers can quickly transfer money from their bank accounts to shopkeeper's bank account.

No Internet or Only feature phone - Use USSD

If you don't have Internet or smartphone, then you will have to use USSD for digital payments. Please follow how to pay or receive using your feature phone and USSD - step by step guide

Having RuPay Debit Card POS machine

If you have RuPay debit card POS (point of sale) machine, then you can accept payments using Rupay card.

Once you made a digital transaction, you don't have to do anything else to participate in lucky draw. Government will keep track of all transactions and will do a lucky draw on all transactions.
