EPF AADHAAR: linking / seeding /authenticate errors for EPF transfer, withdrawal and pension
Lately it has become compulsory to link/seed your Aadhaar number to your EPF account (UAN) to ensure smooth service. A successfully linked Aadhaar number is useful for two cases:
- EPF Pension: Must for getting the pension after April 2017
- Simplified Online claim for epf transfer and epf withdrawal: If your EPF account is seeded successfully with Aadhaar number, then you can submit your epf claim without requiring paper forms and signature from previous employer.
People have been linking Aadhaar with their EPF/UAN account by submitting their details on the UAN Portal. Though even after successful submission on UAN portal, people are facing problems. Here is a list of common errors/problems and how to go about fixing it.
EPF Error: Please update your AADHAAR
It means that you have not linked your Aadhaar number with your EPF/UAN account. You can link your UAN account with aadhaar number by following:
- Online on UAN Portal
- Submit aadhaar details to your employer and ask them to link your epf account with aadhaar
- Visit your nearest epfo office with your EPF UAN number and copy of aadhaar card
EPF Claim: AADHAAR is not authenticated from UIDAI. Please authenticate your AADHAAR by visiting nearest EPFO office.
This error is seen while submitting online claim. Many users can successfully see their Aadhaar number under approved KYC on UAN portal, but still get this error while submitting for online transfer or withdrawal.
EPF Aadhaar - Pension Not Credited Since April and May 2017
If your aadhar is either not linked or not authenticated successfully, then you won't be getting your pension from April 2017 (which is typically credited in May 2017).
To fix this, you need to visit your nearest EPFO office with your aadhaar card and authenticate your aadhaar by doing verification with your biometrics. You need to go in person only.
Aadhaar authentication failed. AADHAAR number, Name, DOB or Gender mismatch with registered data.
This happens when their is a mismatch between details available on your Aadhaar card and EPF account. If your Aadhaar card is correct, you will need to visit your nearest EPFO office with ID card copy to get your details corrected in EPF account.
EPF Aadhaar: Invalid Gender details for AADHAAR authentication.
Same as above. You need to visit your nearest EPFO office with govt approved ID card copy to get your gender details corrected in EPF account.
